maybe it's just me, but if it's not, do some of you feel that your life is starting to revolve around architecture? when i was walking back home today, i noticed that i was rather detached from everything happening around me.. but the possibility that it's not because of architecture and is, instead, a personal, original, feeling already integrated in me. another possibility is that all of us are becoming part of an unfeeling society, only taking interest in what is around often enough.

hi guys, i did a mini essay on designing in general. its a pretty interesting gems so far, so i think i will share it with u guys, this is actually a summary of e first class with some personal opinions :

Designers design, they simply don't quit. Designers are also almost like gods, they have absolute control on what they really want, and they create them and draws it out. Implementation is another issue all together.

Who are these designer ? What is it that separate them from engineers ? Honestly, there aren't much difference from these two fields, as ultimately what they are trying to achieve are for the betterment of mankind. Designers visualize things, engineers make them. A designer cannot be both an engineer at the same time, however a good designer can.

Designing can mean ideas, big big ideas, ideas bigger than the earth the sun or the universe. Designing is about conceptualization, its about how you present your creations. Designing is also about making the ordinary seem extraordinary, making it appeal to the crowd, selling it, and making sure its also feasible at the same time.

Most engineers do design, too. However this profession are bound by a set of rules that govern their design. Engineering design is mostly about efficiency, durability and many laws and logics in which science rules over them. In other words, functionality is the key factor to engineering.

Aesthetics is the next factor that decides the eventual fate of a design. At this point, one must understand that there are many forms and typology of design, from industrial design to fashion design, even from architecture to product design or even graphical design. As a designer, he or she must be able to sell their design through rationalizing, what makes a particular design appealing, is it the form the shape or even the overall sensation that emits from it.

A good designer is able to convey a strong message through his or her design. Similarly, a good artist is able to paint emotions or even words into the minds of people viewing the painting. However a good engineer could only be recognized when he or she had pioneered something or created something that is a huge advantage to the humankind.

Being a designer is a tough and challenging job. Its about process, its about conveying messages, its about presentation, its about knowing the rules and conventions and breaking it. Its about people, as people are most likely going to judge and use your design. Know people, how they think they act and the history of all things related to us. Ultimately, a huge chunk of designing is thinking and knowing what people want and presenting it.

Be a designer today !

Top left: Shomenuchi Iriminage (i'm having trouble with this right now, my opponent go round and round and i don't know how to stop him=,=) (btw this seems like a rather high level technique that a white belt like me shouldn't knowO_o""")
Top right: Tenchinage Ura-waza (or translated to 天地 O_o , ura-waza let's you pull your opponent off balance more easily~)
Bottom left: Tenchinage Omote-waza (the positive version of 天地.)
Bottom right: Shomenuchi Ikkyo Ura-waza (i learned this during my second lesson~)
though i doubt you can see it but actually the order of these images should have been different, but it was hard to arrange them with blogger=,="

Ben and i were thinking of starting an archi site for all SP archi students. Meaning yr 1 to yr 3 will join in. Its to set up an online community of students so that they can participate in the forum and help each other in their work. We won't really know what the implications and possible results are but i think its worth a try.

We want to make it big, a real site with real admins maintaining the site even after we graduate so that even freshies next yr and the next next year can also join in. The main purpose is to get as much members as possible, and right now we want to start out small.

I think ben's afraid of rejection if he voice this out so i will=)

Of course if we want to make it big, we got to invest in server with proper hosting and of course our personal own domain. etc. www.sparchiforums.com/net/org

There's currently 8 of us. And if we can get more people to join in the initial start up stage, the cost for setting up can be greatly offset. It does come down to only a few dollars a year. Just save up on ONE meal or something.

I hope right now you should be more concerned about commitment and the contributions you want to put in this. I know everyone's got their own life and interest. Why not make this one of your interest ? When we get more members, we might even earn from the *cough* ads *cough*. But ultimately its getting the site up running and active.

Due to some technicalities, the previous forum was closed and discontinued. Setting up this forum can keep everyone in touch and closer to the architecture scene even after we graduate from the school.

Hope i don't sound too harsh on this, cause its gonna be all up to your interest and commitment in the end to make this work. So think through it before you tell us you want in. I think its time for expansion liao. Do drop your point of views in the comment box and indicate whether you are AGAINST or FOR this idea. Try not to be influenced by other's opinion even though its really human nature.

oh ho =P may the moon shine ever bright ever forever. Todayit seems my dept. got a new addition to their permanent staff O_O (so that's what all the alteration to the cubicles the day before was about@_@)~ she's called ***** and she's an unknown factor still. But after work today i/we/my colleagues and i went for a company outing. it seems they booked a whole theater to watch "Just Follow Law". Which was NiceO_O! so but certain things happened here and there which lessened the amount of enjoyment i could have received..~ haiz~ ahhh~ nvm<_____< "" lalala~

When i was walking back from the mrt one day the trees started to drop their leavesO_O then after that i ran back to my house assembled my camera started to dread the rain ran back down only to find that the leaves had already stopped falling... it would've been a nice pictre T_T sobz to camera-less phones.

Then one day (last sunday i think) i was lying down on my bed when i saw this light O_O jk anyways i saw the lunar shining so nicely, she was just a bit bigger than half(slightly pregnant? =x) so rush rush camera assemly again. and because it was so dark i had to hold the camera in that position facing up on my pillow for 4/6 s.. so shake abit nvm ba<_> at least come out abit nice~
oh ya oh ya this picture has been photoshopped abit because it was waayy too blur. (well not that much actually>_>)

And when i sat up i saw this thing(?) there XD i'll leave it up to you to guess what it is~ But still this is my room, but note, every item in this picture is not mine, including that 19" LCD monitor over there.... ... .. ...

lol speaking about autocad, i guess its time for bens ADVANCE autocad tuitorial. i learnt this a few daes ago. DO YOU KNOW ??? The staff of the first maid cafe of 'S' gathered people who actually have real 'talents', though different from the traditional. (This post is just a projection of my thoughts, and there is no offensive intent intended.)

OMG i can feel my life is draining off... then the rest i think is quite can see, cadd..... colour...... present...... wad we do in sku is jus quite wad is happening outside, BUT i mus sae , the thing i am doing now... is tender drawing, omg. i nvr do b4 , and the bloody tender booklet will stack up till about 300mm in height...... waste of paper , and i mus sae contractor as the ability to judge the cost of a project by the weight of the tender drawings.... i like the place where we work, the environment is not bad. Although its tiring, due to being sick and all, but its nice to approach my supervisor, somehow not scary at all. So i am overall happy, and because of that i shall work Harder . :) i just hope that the rest of the week shall be something i look forward too. And cadding is not all that bad, looking through the drawings is a good thing, can learn certain ways of how things are built and done. So i must try to make sure i get as much out of this ITP, just need to push myself to work hard . .time to sleep. Good luck everyone nitenite.

How's everyone's first day ? Me and chau had fun sia. Cad non-stop. Attire wise we can wear T-shirt and pants ! Coooool. Oh, and chau realised how much he sucked in autocad, actually me too.

By the way, we got ONE WHOLE WEEK OFF next week during CNY. We are not paid though.... Thus we are only effectively working 8 weeks, 5 days a week, meaning, 40 days in total. One day just passed that makes, 1/40, 2.5% completion of ITP !

Okay, time to play games liao.

3 more days left to relax!! before ITP starts, I hope it'll be more exaciting rather than scary ... *Dunno why this blog suddenly become like a diary* but its good to see that all of us are updating once in a while :) Have you guys gotten enough clothes Lol, somehow that seems to be 'quite' an important issue for us and check with your LOs about getting ready for Itp. must try to meet up at least twice or trice during our Itp period for dinner, update each other on the pros and cons of our attachment ya? once the queue gets too long, mobs become well, mobs, so they bashed one aura to go munch at the crystal, and took them quite a while too. 6 gigas were not able to take em out...

Click the pic to enlarge, i did the bottom part in microsoft paint during my sec 4 days. These people are my classmates who were late for school and were forced to do CWO (community work offence). I sniped the pic when they werent looking. Apparently they were slacking from their job. The centre image was done by my "good" friend weilong(cycling guy who likes rhoda).

I packed a lot of details in the pic. Take a look. Inside the picture oso got the name of the girl i used to like back then. Hunt it down !

Guys the small spaces around the mountain are area where u

can build towers must sure u use them wisely as in build towers

with high range to reach its full usage ya this is a plan of the

map.

this is the map with the allocation of the players

(2) Val building arrow tower on edge and upgrading it.

(3) Ben building arrow tower on edge ken help make

maze for ben if possible for val too make sure its rock maze.

Lol you wont believe this, todae i went to NATIONAL STADIUM to watch SIGNAPORE lions vs MALAYSIA hahahhaha lol even i cannot believe it , there got so many ppl omg haha 50k ppl . the kanasai the first goal was by malaysia lol. then the funniest thing was that , the place i was sitting, in front is the place where ALL the malaysia supporters are! lol there got so much police hahaha scared we or they hoot us . then every funny, we boo them they boo us

lol ok but not all is lost SINGAPORE SCORE lolololol after malaysia score, singapore lion hot ar, keep on pushing , and tycolly too lol scored!!!!

ok then later was a draw 1 1 all the way till silver goal. about 1045 omg lol penaty kick lol. so exciting and funny. when singapore walking to shoot all cheer when malaysia players walking to the goal the whole stadium jeer OMG lol BOOOO then all first 4 goals score lol then on the 5th wan singapore scored too , that was super funny too LOL the player was from china, then everyone start to cheer JIA YOU JIA YOU omg super funny , then later malaysia's 5th ball, lol singapore goal keeper finallllly got it lol it was a bloody good save, near the pole there

oh man, me and jer played damn far for mountTD a few moments ago. too bad my com hang halfway or else complete le. i really wanna complete this map with u guys, so here's some addtional tips.

1. Start to build from the top not bottom. Build near the peak so incase leak got backup.

2. Your towers should be able to hit at least TWO LANES. What i mean is that each tower build on a row of "runway" should be able to target the mobs again after they go one round the mountain. The tower's range should be more than 700.

3. Poison towers and disease towers are VERY GOOD. best poison damage does abt 40damage per second over 2mins. build these at the BOTTOM around after wave 2.

4. Mazing is good. Use basic tower or rock tower to maze as it is the cheapest. Put some splash damage towers near your maze to maximise damage. HOWEVER, DO NOT MAZE IN CORNERS.

5. Rock towers are best built in a cluster. So when the rock tower hits a boss, more chance of it stunning it and make it stuck there for other towers to deal damage. Thus the term, choke.

6. Having heroes early is good as they can level up and tackle bosses later.

7. Guys, we should learn this thing called teamwork, share your wealth with others.

8. Build lightning towers to handle air right after wave 5. Build them at bottom left corner of map near the turn. That is a choke point for ALL mobs as they have to pass thru that point no matter where they spawn from.

9. Once get passed the 2nd boss, its better to stop mazing and concentrate on better upgrades of towers. Focus on slow towers too.

10. Frost towers are best used at the "super stage" which means you only upgrade ur default frost towers ONCE. The range and frost effect is acceptable for its cost to build. Any higher and its not so effective liao.

11. Most towers are most effective during MAX upgrades. its better to have 5 basic towers than have 2 super ones. Even if both cost the same. However it is better to have 1 ultimate tower than have many many default towers for the same amount of gold.

12. Each gold you earn counts. Once you reach 10 gold quickly build a new tower. Save gold only for hero or poison towers early game.

13. We should not build our towers from far from each other. Try to benefit from other's aura towers or maze. Beside heroes level up easier if we build close.

keys... Let aunt val give u more advance autocad moves.

* Beware.. this is not for the faint-hearted.. PLS DO NOT DO THIS
AT HOME... if u plan to do so... pls do it with the supervision of
parents. Here goes-...
(TRY AT UR OWN RISK)
1. To undo 1o steps in one shot instead of one at a time... press ALT Q Q.

2. To save the autocad file, instead of going to the FILE menu, u can press
ALT F U

3. Most useful key of all times... to delete everything on your screen at one shot,
go to FILE > SELECT ALL > DELETE

hey guys i was thinking of changing the look for this blog
so i hope u guys will help me out here i was thinking of putting
all our works together and form a background so if possible
send me all yr BEST WORKS to me than i will get it done up in
photoshop

when i say done up it means i may change it to black and white
of grey tone if its too stand out for example but i will adjust it

another thing is that i wish to put an albrum in the blog i dun know
if its possible so i have to ask YK. but i think it will be better to
have an albrum to see the pics of all our activity than to post it one
